Trashy Fridays: Virgin Territory and (MORE) Married at First Sight

Welcome, yet again, to another delectable and exciting edition of Trashy Fridays! We would first like to thank you guys for the continued support with this series! This is a great and entertaining part of the week for us! For this edition of Trashy Fridays, we are continuing with MTV’s Virgin Territory and FYI’s Married at First Sight. So, let’s get to wonderful trashiness!
Virgin Territory

MTV didn’t disappoint and they gave us a great episode of Virgin Territory this week.  We continue the stories of Marjorie and David and we are introduced to Keyeira and Alec.

Well, let's start with Marjorie. Omg this girl has got to be the most annoying person so far on this series. She is still trying to convince herself that she doesn’t want a relationship with Hiago... (Seriously, girl I’m not convinced.) To be honest, she keeps flip flopping between telling us that she wants to be in a relationship with him and wanting to be only being friends. (It’s very confusing.)  The episode starts with her friends going to the club with Hiago. There she sees her arch enemy, Katia, and Katia begins flirting with Hiago (which makes her mad, even though they aren’t in a relationship). Marjorie also believes that Katia is saying bad things about her, while in reality she isn’t, but whatever... She and Katia get into a heated argument where she won’t hear Katia out and calls her a ho. After the incident, Marjorie invites Hiago over to talk about the drama. Hiago says that she can’t have a good relationship with someone until she puts herself out there and she needs to change her attitude about it.  The next day, Marjorie, Victoria, Hiago, Katia and other friends hang out at the beach. There she has a conversation with Katia and says she wants to be civil with her for the sake of their mutual friend, Victoria. They both agree and that’s all that really happened. Marjorie is soooo confusing!!!! She keeps saying that she has feeling for Hiago, they almost had sex, but can’t decide if she wants to be with him or not. Due to the fact that she has trust issues with guys, I don’t see her losing her virginity very soon. I think Hiago cares about her and is trying to be a good friend for her, but sometimes I don’t know how he puts up with her…

Next we go to David, who confesses to us that his relationship with Cairo isn’t going anywhere. Cairo comes over to talk. She tells David that she wants him to feel like he can be honest with her about anything. They hang out playing football and David talks to his frat brother to see if he has felt the same way about past relationships.  The next day, Cairo, David and his friends go have a paint ball fight. (David plans the best hang outs/dates, I swear!) After his team loses, he asks to talk to Cairo. He says that he’s enjoyed their time together, but he thinks they would be better off just being friends. (OMG he friend zoned someone!) Cairo seemed upset at first, but at the end of the conversation she seemed more accepting of it. David decides to go dating around a bit and stay a virgin and he leaves the show L. David was the best person, we loved him and he will be missed!

Then we have Keyaira! She is an 18 year old virgin from Virginia. Even though she's a virgin, she is very open and will talk about sex freely. (You will see later on that this is very true.) Keyaira claims a guy gave her oral for 5 hours… (Um, I highly doubt a guy did that for that long, but okay...)  Keyaira is afraid to have sex because she is concerned about the consequences of sex. She has seen girls become pregnant and drop out of school, she is concerned about the pain that comes with the first time, and she is afraid that the guy will leave her. Keyaira goes to the nail salon and talks to her mom about it too, and it was really a TMI conversation with her mother… Her mom suggests that she go to the clinic and get information on sex before she decides to do it. (Good idea mom!) So the next day they go to planned parenthood and get more information on birth control and condoms. That night during dinner she tells everyone (including her hilarious dad) what she learned at planned parenthood and gives a demonstration. She grabs an ear of corn, pretending it’s a penis, and shows everyone (mainly her brother...) the proper way to put on a condom. (Haha, now you see what I meant!)  Later, she goes to the club with some friends and her mom.  She meets a guy named Couri and gets his number. Keyaira is really funny and I like her for the show. I want to see if she’ll be able to go out with Couri and what else she will do while she’s on the show.

Finally, we have Alec, and we have been patiently awaiting his arrival on the show. Alec was actually gay and had not come out of the closet yet. He didn’t feel comfortable with himself and was afraid he would be bullied. But now he has accepted that he is who he is and wants to start out by telling his family. Alec’s parents are divorced; he lives with his mother and brother, and has had a rocky relationship with his dad. First he hangs out with his dad, who tells the story of how he lost his virginity. (It wasn’t exactly a romantic story.) Then before the reveal, he goes to a support group so he can be more confident and talk about his concerns with coming out. Finally, it’s the night of the reveal. He invites his dad over to the house and has the family sit on the couch. He tells them that he loves them and explains that when he loses his virginity it will be with a guy because he is gay.  What was great to see was that his family told him that it was okay and that nothing has changed between them. Alec is a great person for this show and now we love him too!

Next week is exciting because Alec reveals to his friends with a cake that he is gay, and we just can’t wait!  I like most of the people right now and am really enjoying this show!

Married at First Sight- "Last Chance at Romance"

Cortney is still concerned that Jason’s busy schedule won't allow him to make her a priority in his life. Jamie and Doug write each other apology notes and they seem to have more of an understanding for each other. Doug is still concerned that Jamie doesn’t want to stay with him. Monet and Vaughn read their notes to each other and they seem like they are working through their issues very well. Next, the couples go on romantic dates.  Jason and Cortney really enjoy theirs but they know they won’t have a lot of time for this when they get busier. Cortney feels like Jason will not open up to her still and she doesn’t know what else to do to make him feel like he can. Monet and Vaughn talk again about her beliefs on womanly roles in the home. He finally understands where she is coming from and they are able to talk it out very well.  Doug and Jamie are starting get over the trust issues that they have been having, so it is suggested they improve the relationship and show the kind of love that they have for each other. Jason shares with his friend that he has been let down in past relationships and has trouble committing right away. Girls in the past have been unfaithful, so he is thinking about leaving. Jamie and Doug talk about romance and Jamie admits that she hasn’t done anything romantic for him because she saves it for someone she loves. This hurts Doug a lot, and he says that most romantic thing he’s done is care for her dog. (Hmmm...)  Monet and Vaughn go on a first date and get to know each other like they are strangers, and do not bring up the past. Jason and Cortney talk to the spiritual expert and they show how they have learned to love each other and how they have grown together. The spiritual expert says they have a good chance of sticking together.

Then it’s everyone’s anniversary. Cortney gets Jason tickets to see the first showing of Rocky on Broadway. Jason gets her a t-shirt that says “Keep Calm and Carrion” with their names on it, and she loves it. Monet and Vaughn both got each other a watch. (That’s funny how they think alike.) Doug did an open mic set and he thought of Jamie while he made jokes (by not making sex jokes), and he dedicated the set to her. Each couple talks about staying together. Monet and Vaughn said they do not want divorce, but they were happy that they had each other. Cortney has made up her mind and wants to stay married, but she is concerned that Jason will leave her. Jamie, for her gift, set up a photo shoot so that they could replace the wedding photos. Doug shares that they haven’t had sex yet, but Jamie will let him touch her. I think Jamie is starting to like Doug more and more each episode.
I think overall the couples are progressing really well. Also, I thought they were doing the reveal this week but apparently that is next episode, which is disappointing. I would say this episode was so much better than last week. It was pretty entertaining and the couples are really showing how they care for each other.
