November Favorites

Now that it’s the end of the month we want to share some of our favorite things from November!

.    Our accessory collection!  We have partnered with Cool Gal Blue to bring you guys a great selection of jewelry this holiday season!  The pieces are great, affordable gifts for friends and family (or treat yourself, you deserve it!) and you can get 20% off with the code PinkFridays now!  Check out the whole collection here: http://coolgalblue.com/collections/on-fridays-we-wear-pink-accessories-collection

.    The Starbucks gingerbread latte- which is, of course, a favorite every year.  It’s the perfect flavor for the transition from fall to the holiday season.  We order it with one extra pump of gingerbread syrup for the best flavor and sweetness.  (Every year it tastes a little different, so when it first comes out we have an experimentation period while we figure out exactly how many pumps of syrup are necessary.  Last year was a lot, haha!)

.    Gossip Girl.  I know it’s a little late to just be getting into Gossip Girl, but OMG.  O.  M.  G.  Just started it on Netflix and we really should have waited until winter break to start a series…

.    Pumpkin pie.  It’s a classic.  This year I added a topping (crushed gingersnap cookies, brown sugar, vanilla, karo syrup, and a little granulated sugar baked on top of the pie) and it’s DELICIOUS.  Highly recommended!

Trashy Friday: Are You the One? and Girl Code

Welcome back to another delicious edition of Trashy Fridays! This week we will be covering MTV's Are You the One? and Girl Code. Let's get to the trashiness!

Are You the One?

We go back to this series after everyone remaining in the house has made 0 progress in finding their matches. They have 3 episodes left to do so in order to win the money.  Everyone is feeling the pressure to find their matches. Miss. Wendy's says that she'd still do Anthony even though they aren't perfect matches. (Again, seriously, I really don't like you, and why does everyone seem to want Anthony..?)  Brad starts a pointless argument with everyone, saying he feels like he's the smartest because he has a college degree. (Haha, what?)

The next day, the competitors couple up and play a game with solo cups.  For this game, the girls have to make a pyramid with the cups with their mouths.  One of them is gross and says "Oh, bigger things have been in my mouth." (Whyyy..?)  Bri, Anthony, Jen, and Garland are eliminated after this round. Then the girls must eat 5 hot dogs. Miss. Wendy's, Layton, Cristina, and Nathan are eliminated after this because they couldn't keep the dogs down. (Honestly, they looked so gross...)  Finally, the girls have to dip their buns in honey and the guys must use them to collect colored balls that are in a bin. (What is the point of this exactly?) Jenni and John win this game and are able to go on a date.

To help them find their matches (since they all really need the help), all of the couples get to go on a get away date on a huge party bus.   During the party Brad sees Cristina connect with Nate, which upsets him. (Seriously, just play to win the game! He even starts splashing the water when she kisses him. Really...) Everyone is dancing, making out, and maybe having sex at this party... I guess they are connecting well?  Garland has a quickie with Tyler and this makes her very upset. John and Jennie go on their date in tubs on the next day. (Everyone in the house seems to be connecting a lot better in this episode.)

At the house, everyone is arguing because they can't decide on which couple to put in the truth booth. Half want to put the obvious couple, while the other wants to use one couple to get rid of Cristina. (Since she is the 11th girl.) After the vote, Jon and Jenni are going into the truth booth. Jon and Jenni are a perfect match.

Now the guys choose their girl for the money truth match. Shelby reveals that she and Curtis can't sleep with each other because he still has feelings for Bri.  Dario chooses Ashley.  Alex chooses Jasmine. Layton chooses Miss. Wendy's. Brandon chooses Tyler, but he says he will still fight for Cristina. Tyler and Bri say that he is so annoying and they don't want him. Brandon won't be able to fall in love with any of these girls, besides Cristina. It's really sad and annoying. Anthony chooses Bri. Nate chooses Cristina. (OMG, Brandon is being so annoying. Let Cristina go! That's what she wants...) Garland chooses Jess. Alex is left alone tonight.  The lights reveal that they have 6 perfect matches.

Next week's episode looks really intense and I see some conflicts arising. I still don't like this show but it is really trashy. The last clip I saw, everyone was feeling how weird Jess's boobs are...

Girl Code

For this episode, the girls take on the Christmas season. They first discuss how to get into the holiday spirit. They say it's great how no one will judge you for shopping too much, making crafts, or getting fat. (Well I don't think the last one is true, but gaining weight happens. You just need to stay on track!)

Next they discuss decorating traditions. Some of them are really stupid. I think it's nice when the family can get together and decorate, no matter what age you are.

The girls then discuss food. Yes, we all know that people tend to eat bad food like crazy during the holiday season. Everyone seems to agree just to enjoy yourself during this time and worry about dieting later. I think this message is okay, but don't overdue it!

The next issue, which I feel is important, is if it is okay to be single during the holidays. (YES!!! You don't need another person to be happy!) It seems that families put a lot of pressure on girls to just have a guy during this time of the year. This pressure causes girls to get something known as a Holiday Boyfriend, a boyfriend that you have only from November to early February. OMG this idea is very stupid! I do not see the point in this type of relationship.  The girls also say that having a boyfriend during this time is just a hassle and it isn't worth it. So ladies, just be happy if you are single, there is nothing wrong with it at all! Don't complain about it and do not go out and find someone just to have someone.

Then they talk about giving and receiving gifts, especially gifts for your significant other. Apparently no one is really great at giving gifts to these people.  In my opinion, especially for the holidays, you must be happy that they tried. But seriously, if you don't have a clue what to get them, ask their friends and it should help.

Lastly, the girls talk about parties. They think it is fun to be able to get hammered and dress a little more costume-y this time of year.  You must be careful not to get too drunk, and be cautious because you don't always know which drinks are spiked.

This episode was really cute and the holiday season theme, though it's too early, is very exciting. I love that time of year and this episode was really good!

Thanksgiving: Tips for the Perfect Turkey

Since Thanksgiving is almost here, here are my tips for a delicious turkey!

  • First, brine your turkey! I finally tried this 2 years ago and it helped a lot to create a delicious and moist turkey. To brine, using enough water to completely cover the turkey, for every gallon of water add 3/4 cup of brown sugar and coarse salt. Heat to dissolve everything, cool it, and submerge your turkey in it. Do this for at least 18 hours.

  • Put a generous amount of butter on the outside of your turkey. Now I know what you are thinking, butter is bad for you. But butter does two wonderful things for your turkey: it adds fat, which, let's be honest, gives it more flavor because birds naturally have less fat, and it helps it brown! The browning makes it look pretty. When you are done brining, you must pat your turkey the best you can with paper towels. Get most of the moisture off so it can brown better. Then take room temperature butter and put it all over the skin, and put a bit under where the skin peels up naturally. Finally, put some spices on the outside.

  • Another thing that will help the gravy and the turkey is to put a little bit of chicken broth in the bottom of your roasting pan along with a bed of veggies. You can use any veggies you wish, like onions, carrots, celery, etc. Plus herbs! The chicken broth can be used to baste your turkey throughout the cooking process and can prevent drying.

  • The most important part, cook your turkey to the proper temperature. You should cook it so that the thickest part of the breast reads 170 degrees F. Then allow it to rest so the juices don't run everywhere when you cut it.

  • Lastly, let's do a simple gravy. Take 1.5 tbsp of butter to 1 tbsp of flour and make a roux. To make a roux, you melt butter and then add your flour. Cook the flour for a minute to get rid of the raw flour flavor. Then add your pan drippings and some broth or wine and whisk it together. Once at the proper consistency, season with salt and pepper. Gravies are so easy to make and are more flavorful if you make them yourself.

Workout Basics

It's getting to be holiday season and this time can be a huge test for your healthy life style. Maybe you are thinking "Well, I can just wait til the new year and then I can get back into a routine." But the best thing to do is to start as soon as possible! I have some tips to get you started and keep you motivated during this time of year.

-Start your routine as soon as possible. Don't keep telling yourself "I'll start tomorrow" and don't make excuses. Find a period of time, approximately 45 minutes per day, and start your routine. If you can't do your routine every day, try to do it at least 3 to 4 times per week.

-Another thing that people can be guilty of (including me), is trying to do way too much at first. Realize that you will not be able to all of a sudden do 90 minutes of exercise or too much of one exercise when you first start. You must pace yourself! For example, do you want to do some light lifting? Start off with a low amount of weight (like 5 pounds), maybe by doing 8 bicep curls 2 times. Do not think you can do 100 of these at the start! The only thing you will be doing is making your routine more difficult and you can possibly hurt yourself. Once you get used to this routine, after a week raise it up gradually. Like, instead of 8 reps 2 times, do 12. Keep increasing the amount of reps, times, and weight, as you get more comfortable with the work out.
-Do you have a part of your body that you would like to see more toned? Identify these parts and look up workouts that will target that part of the body.

-This is really important: find things that you find fun to do as a workout! I think this is the most important part, because if it's fun to do, you will keep going back to it!

-Also very important, you must stretch BEFORE and AFTER your workout! This simply takes 5 minutes to do and it helps to prevent injury.

-Lastly, do not think that you will see instantaneous results. I feel like people have the expectation that things will happen quickly, and when they don't, they quit. The rule of thumb for an exercise routine is that it takes approximately one month for it to be a routine and you will start to see results in 3 months. Do not let this long period of time discourage you! You can do it! Just keep making small goals and you will work your way into having a toned, healthy body!

Thanksgiving: Side Dishes

Apple and Goat Cheese Stuffing

This stuffing is sweet and savory!  It’ll balance the rest of your Thanksgiving meal perfectly!  This recipe is also very versatile and can be tweaked to your tastes.

Ingredients:
2 apples, cubed
3 sticks of celery, chopped
1 onion, chopped
5 tbsp butter
2 cups chicken broth
12 oz of cubed stuffing (unseasoned, seasoned, wheat, white, whatever!  I use a
mixture of wheat, white and seasoned)
4 oz goat cheese

Directions: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Cut up your apples, celery and onion.  In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat then add your celery and onion and stir until tender-crisp.  Add the chicken broth and stir occasionally as you bring it to a boil.  Put the cubed stuffing in a large bowl, then pour your broth and veggies over and mix well.  Stir in your apples then mix in the goat cheese.  Put the stuffing in a large casserole dish and bake for 30 minutes.

For a little extra texture, add some chopped walnuts!  You might also enjoy this stuffing with dried cranberries or sausage.

Sweet Potato Mash

Ingredients:
3 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/4 inch pieces
1 tbsp of brown sugar
1 tsp of cinnamon
1/4 cup of sliced pecans, toasted
1 tbsp of butter, unsalted
Salt, for cooking water
Pepper

Directions: Boil water in a big pot, then add a small handful of salt to the water. Add potatoes and cook for 20 minutes, until a knife can easily pierce them. Drain and return to the pot. Mash with a potato masher. Once mashed, add the butter and mix. Then add the cinnamon, brown sugar, and pepper, and mix again. Finally, top with toasted pecans.

Trashy Friday: Are You the One? and Slednecks

Welcome back to Trashy Fridays! For this week we are going to be covering, MTV's Are You the One? and Slednecks. Thank you guys so much for your support, and now let's get to the trashiness!

Are You the One?

We haven't watched this show since its premiere, but I do remember that it was pretty terrible. For this episode, all of the girls' families come down to investigate the guys. (Wow that will be rough...)  The guys must match the girl to her parents in order to get a reward. Well, Anthony is nervous because he has apparently hooked up with half the girls there. (OMG dude, you are definitely screwed!)  So John admits that he is in the show for the money. (How disappointing...)  Anthony seems to think the moms are hot. (Please put it away and focus!)  These parents ask some brutal but necessary questions. Johnny wins the game and takes Jasmine on a date. While the winners go on dates, the remaining people must decide who goes in the truth booth. (This helps them win the game and money, I guess.) The parents continue to interview the guys and they give everyone advice.  Since Layton said that Anthony is the worst to Jenni's mom, he decides to confront him. An argument commences... And this argument is stupid...

So Miss. "I used to work at Wendy's" is into Anthony. (What is so special about Anthony? I don't understand...) Now Jenni and Jess are having an argument. (Please just shut up everyone!!!)  Everyone is getting jealous because they feel like they are stealing each other's people. Jess says let's be real, and Miss. Wendy's agrees. (OMG stop!) But Jenni just gets upset and Anthony and his friend say f them all. (I agree with him, there is no reason to cause problems like this.) Now the winners go on their dates. When asked about the issue, everyone relives the night before and starts to yell again. The house votes for John and Jasmine to go to the truth booth. And.... they aren't a match.  So everyone is disappointed because they aren't any closer to winning the game. (Really, I was expecting that...)

Now they are doing another match up so they can get more lights.  Brianna wants to explode rainbows because she loves Curtis, but he already found his perfect match. (I like Bri, and I feel bad for her. It'll take a bit for her to get over Curtis, but at least she has Dario.)  Again, Anthony and Layton argue... This is just stupid and annoying, I hate it when people argue over the same thing over and over. (We just got a hilarious clip showing Jess and Miss. Wendy's finding a hermit crab and feeding it an egg sandwich :))  Miss. Wendy's chooses Anthony and she says if she is his match she'll rock his world. (I just had to laugh at that one!)  Cristina chooses Nate but he won't choose her because she still has a thing for Brandon. Yeah, that does sound strange, let him go girl! After the matchup there are 0 matches. Now they only have 3 more chances to find those perfect matches and they seem to be going backwards.

This show is so annoying! The characters are just really irritating and I just don't like most of these people.

Slednecks

I really don't know the point of this show, but I did see it advertised when we were watching Virgin Territory. It always looked terrible, so I gave it a shot for this week's edition of Trashy Fridays!

We start off with a warning about wild and crazy behavior. I now know this definitely belongs on here. Great, the first clip shows a huge fight about something that involves everyone in this "club?" It was so bad, that the cops were called. Due to cops showing up, the party was cancelled.  This girl, Amber, felt bad because her boyfriend fought to defend her. The guy seems really sweet and was willing to do so no matter what.  These people are so mean to each other. They make fun of each other and hit each other. Also, the way they talk is very redneck-like, which is kinda funny.  So Kelly apparently will be participating in a MMA type fight, but he's hungover still. (Haha, bad idea...)  His friends trained him to fight, but he still feels unprepared.  Lenard, his cornerman (idk what that means), is really good at giving him advice and I just love the way he talks. Somehow Kelly wins the fight... He does look like he needs more training though, for the next one.  After, they celebrate the only way they know how, by playing a drinking game. (I think this is a stripping and daring kind of game.)  Kelly has sex with Sierra and everyone else goes naked snowboarding. (Why?? It's cold and doesn't sound fun!)  Everyone gossips about the Sierra-Kelly thing. (Which I don't care about.)

Today everyone does naked snowboarding. (Again, just why..?) Sierra and Kelly finally talk about their relationship, and they agree to be benies. (But he feels like it's a benie relationship while she thinks its an actual relationship. This can't go well...)  The girls decide to take Tosca out to meet some boys. (Since Trevor was a jerk to her.) Meanwhile, Trevor keeps trying to invite her to a party, and this is annoying her and her friends.  (They were successful at boy shopping, lucky!)

Now it's the day of the glacier bbq. Sierra is still confused about Kelly. (Seriously, she needs to be real with him. He is just making the situation worse.) This girl flips out over a bee in the car, and it was funny! Trevor finds out that Tosca isn't coming to the party and this makes him sad. (This is what you get for being a jerk.)  OMG, these people get naked all the time, just why..? They make excuses to do it.

Well this was different, but for the most part, this episode was extremely boring. There wasn't a lot of crazy stuff that happened and I personally am not a fan.

Thanksgiving: Appetizers

Thanksgiving is coming up so we'll be sharing some healthy and yummy recipes in anticipation of the holiday! We will start off with appetizers!
Antipasto

I think it is perfect just to have a plate filled with different cheeses, crackers, fruit, veggies, etc. You can put whatever you want on the plate and arrange to make it so pretty! Have fun with an antipasto plate and everyone will definitely appreciate how creative you get!

Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients:
20 mushrooms (caps removed, but save them, and slightly scoop out the insides carefully with a spoon)
1/2 white onion, chopped
2 stalks of celery, chopped
1 clove of minced garlic
2 sprigs of fresh thyme, chopped a bit so the flavor comes out
1/2 cup of beef broth

1 bag plain croutons
2 tbsps red wine
2 tbsps of olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions: Prepare mushrooms. Chop the onion, celery, and the mushroom caps (the goal is to get them as evenly cut as possible). Season with salt and pepper to taste and start to sauté them on medium-low. Once mostly softened, add the garlic and thyme and cook for 2 to 3 more minutes. Add 1/4 cup of beef broth and the croutons, and stir until incorporated. Then put the wine and the remaining broth in a pan with the caps and cook them (starting hole side down) on medium for 3 to 4 minutes per side. When you flip, be sure to keep some liquid in the caps so they don't dry out and they will finish cooking better. Cook 3 more minutes then start to stuff. When you are done, put them on a baking sheet and bake at 350 for 10 to 15 minutes.

Zucchini “Bruschetta”

Ingredients:
2-3 zucchinis, sliced in ¼ to ½ inch slices
Flour
1 egg
Breadcrumbs
And seasoning of your choice (I used salt, oregano, basil and a little garlic)
1-2 tomatoes, roughly cubed
A small amount of onion, chopped
1-2 slices of fresh mozzarella, roughly cubed
Drizzle of olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions: Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.  Slice your zucchini and sprinkle salt on each piece, then wait a few minutes to flip them over and salt the other side.  After a few minutes, dry them well then dip each piece in some flour, then egg, then your breadcrumb mixture (with your seasoning).  Place the slices on a tray, spray with a little cooking spray (if you wish) and bake for about 15 minutes.

While the zucchini slices are baking, cut up your tomato, onion and mozzarella.  Combine them in a bowl with the drizzle of olive oil and salt and pepper, to taste.  Let them soak while the zucchini finishes baking and cools.  Once cool, top each slice with a spoonful of the tomato mixture and serve!

Ultimate Guide to Hydrated Skin

Winter is coming and it’s already a lot colder in many areas!  The cold air and wind will dry your skin out like crazy, and since no one wants red, raw, flaky skin, here are a bunch of tips to stay moisturized for the season!

·      Moisturize- Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!  Even if you have naturally oily skin, the cold air will dry you out so you need extra lotion!  A little extra will make a huge difference.  (Bonus tip: If you have acne-prone skin, this is extra important!  When your skin is dry it will overcompensate by producing even more oil to balance things out, which means more clogged pores and breakouts.)

·      Switch lotions- You may want to consider switching to a thicker lotion for nighttime.  Even if it makes your skin look a little greasy, it should stay on your skin longer while you sleep so your face won’t feel so dry in the morning.  (If it leaves a greasy residue on your pillow you’ll need to switch your sheets more often so you’re not sleeping on the previous few nights’ face oils all the time.)

·      Oil- If your skin can handle it, using a facial oil rather than lotion may be a good option!  These oils are more concentrated than moisturizer, but they may clog pores on sensitive skin.

·      No hot water- When washing your face and showering do not use hot water.  It may be tempting in the cold winter months, but that hot water will really dry out your skin.  You want to do your best to avoid that tight, itch feeling your skin may get when it starts to dry.  Use warm water, and if possible, avoid letting it directly hit your face for the majority of the time you’re in there.  (Bonus tip: Hot water is also very damaging for your hair, so avoiding really hot water will help you keep moisture in your hair and less frizz in the winter!)

·      No air drying- For your skin, that is.  (It’s still best to let your hair air dry as often as possible to avoid the damage from the hair dryer!)  As soon as you get out of the shower or wash your face, grab a clean towel and pat (don’t rub!) until your skin is almost dry.  When your skin is still just a bit damp, immediately apply lotion to lock in and add to that moisture.

·      Gently exfoliate- This is great to knock off dead, rough skin cells and make your skin look brighter, but it’s also great for shaving!  Before you shave your legs, gently exfoliate (I love the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Brazilian nut.  It smells like mocha!) then use a moisturizing shaving cream.  Exfoliating before shaving will allow you to get a closer shave, meaning smoother legs and more time between shaves!

·      Lotion makeup remover- Alcohol-based makeup removers are very drying, so try a lotion version!  I use the Maybelline The Flash Clean Clean Express Makeup Removing Lotion and I love it!  It’s much gentler on the skin than a traditional makeup remover but it still gets all the makeup off.  (You can also try a cleansing oil as a makeup remover, if your skin reacts well to oils.)

·      Spot treat- If you use topical acne treatments, try spot treating rather than applying over your entire face.  These can be really drying and irritating, so whenever your skin is feeling extra raw, skip the allover application and focus on problem areas and noticeable upcoming breakouts.

·      Shea-infused socks- After applying a lotion or body cream to your feet, throw on some of these moisturizing socks before bed.  They lock in the moisture you applied plus add some more throughout the night!

·      Humidifier- My skin gets really dry over night, even in the more humid months, so sleeping with a humidifier on helps a lot!  You can get one that automatically turns off after a specified period of time if you don’t want it running all night.

·      Wear gloves- Don’t forget your gloves in the winter!  It may seem obvious, but they’re easy to forget when running out the door.  Keep a pair in your bag or your car, or just keep them right by the door so they’re easier to remember.  Apply lotion right before heading out into the cold then throw on some gloves to protect your hands from the wind and dry air.  (The same goes for a scarf if you have an open neck with your coat on.)  This will keep them softer, smoother and help prevent them from cracking!  (Bonus tip: Applying lotion, and sunscreen, to your hands every day will also keep them looking younger in the long run.  Make this a habit and your hands won’t reveal your age when you’re older!)

·      Car heating vents- Try not to keep the vents in your car pointed directly at your face or hands.  It feels great when you first get the car warmed up on a cold day, but having that warm air blowing directly on delicate skin will just dry it out.

·      Drink water- A lot of it!  This is still super important in the winter for obvious health reason, plus it will help keep your skin bright and moisturized!  You can’t go wrong with water!

Trashy Friday: Bad Judge and Selfie

Welcome back to Trashy Fridays! Today we will be covering NBC's Bad Judge and ABC's Selfie. Let's get to the trashiness!

Bad Judge

The judge's rival comes to visit, which doesn't make her happy because she keeps criticizing her left and right.  This girl is suing a guy for $3 million for mooning her and causing her injuries. The judge thinks her case is a little ridiculous, but Wright continues the case because her rival is the defense attorney and she continues to criticize her. (Honestly if I were her I'd just let her have it.) Now the girl is testifying and she seems crazy. The rival proves that she didn't see the defendant's butt because it has a tattoo on it. Now crazy girl is mad and calls the judge the same names her rival did. (I'd be like f you, your case is dismissed!)  The judge is trying to prove that her rival is wrong and she wasn't hired for her looks alone. (She is so pretty, smart, and has an amazing attitude! She shouldn't worry about anything anyone says.)

Rebecca decides to go to a Conan convention with her bailiff to ask Schwartzenegger why he hired her as a judge. It turns out he couldn't come, so she is very disappointed. Her bailiff says she shouldn't let people get her down and that she is amazing.  The defendant's butt hurts because the tattoo is infected. (The idiot just got it for his defense.) Rebecca notices, and the rival still criticizes her. (So she threatens contempt.) Judge Wright decides to throw out the case because it's ridiculous. She leaves the guy to suffer with the tattoo and she charges her rival with contempt. (She seriously was so annoying!)  Rebecca's boss says at the end that it doesn't matter how she got the job, it only matters what she does with it.

I really love this show!  It's funny and Kate Walsh plays Rebecca perfectly.

Selfie

There are two new episodes of Selfie this week. For the first episode, Henry is excited that he was invited to the boss's place for a party. He thinks he is getting a promotion. He sees Eliza, and she again does the awkward "hi, how are you" greeting. Henry learns that Eliza was invited to the party too and this upsets him. Then Eliza shows Henry how she is the center of attention and she dances like a stripper. (So stupid...) Henry says that Eliza is his plus one, and this makes her mad for some reason. She goes on an annoying rant the whole way to the party. Once there, the boss confirms that she is a plus one. Eliza decides to play along as the plus one to help Henry get the promotion.  Henry makes a script saying exactly what he will tell the boss in the morning. He thinks that he should do all of the talking in front of him so that he can impress him. This doesn't work and instead he bores everyone! When Eliza comes down, they think that she is fun and are willing to do whatever she does. Eliza tells Henry that he needs to lighten up so everyone can like him. He takes it way too far, though, and he skinny dips in a forbidden lake. He embarrasses himself and his chances to get the promotion are very bad. Henry blames Eliza for the incident and insists that he doesn't need her help anymore. (He actually said that she was better when she was on her phone. Henry is so mean!)  The next day he makes a speech apologizing to everyone. It turns out that the boss enjoyed his goofy side and says that he is better with Eliza. Henry goes to find Eliza and then they are able to find service (since they couldn't while at the boss's house the whole weekend). When Eliza gets home she posts a photo of herself, a horse, and Henry on Instagram. The episode ends with Henry liking the photo.

For the second episode, Eliza is convinced that Henry needs a girlfriend because he is in a bad mood all of the time. With the help of Charmonique, they get a gift card for a coffee shop and try to introduce Henry to the cute new barista. When Henry finally takes her up on the offer, he blows the meeting. The cute barista offers him a cookie and he rejects it. (Who rejects a free cookie?!) Next, Charmonique and Eliza try to get him a dating profile. So during lunch Eliza asks him weird dating profile questions. The boss's wife gets mad at him for being mean to their son-in-law. Apparently, he wants to be treated as an equal because the boss refuses to sing about him in the morning. (Oh, boo hoo...) When the boss finds out about Eliza and Charmonique's plan, he decides to get on board. (It was funny because Eliza said "you go home to your wife, Henry goes home to a salad." The boss replies, "you can't make love to a salad.")  When the boss tries to make peace with his son-in-law, he has an epiphany. He realizes that his son-in-law is perfect for a customer service job and gives him a promotion. Some guy who was talking to Henry tries to convince him that Eliza is into him. (Um, no...)  Charmonique and Eliza set up a date night for Henry. She is convinced that Eliza needs to teach Henry how to talk to women. (Because he screws it up all of the time.) When she goes to his house and shows him, it makes it look like she is flirting with him. So Henry is very confused now. Today is date night. As Henry goes to the meeting place, he is disappointed to see that all of the girls look like Charmonique and Eliza. He insists that he doesn't need help finding a girl and he doesn't believe in casual sex for happiness. Eliza feels bad and wants to apologize to Henry. But she notices that he is talking a girl who is just like him and he decides to hang out with her for awhile. Eliza feels proud of herself as Henry drives away with his date.

Selfie is still a ridiculous show and it's just so much fun to trash on, to be honest. I find that Henry and Eliza's relationship is weird. They both do bad things to each other and then end up apologizing later for those actions. It always has the same plot line, really.
