Disney Princess Nails: Snow White

Mirror, mirror, on the wall…  These nails are inspired by the princess and the movie, Snow White (1937).  Each month I will bring you a new set of nails based on a Disney princess, in the order of their release.

You’ll need:
Base coat
Top coat (I prefer Seche Vite)
Striper brush
Yellow, blue, red and brown nail polishes (I used: Pure Ice in Excuse Me; Lancôme in 561; Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color in 89 Honeymoon Red; and OPI Nail Lacquer in You Don’t Know Jacques Suede)

Apply a clear base coat then paint each nail yellow, 1-2 coats depending on opacity.  You want the yellow to be a medium shade, not too bright and not too dark or golden, to resemble the skirt of Snow White’s dress.

Paint a vertical stripe down the middle of your pinky and a horizontal stripe in the middle of your index fingernail with the blue polish (I just used the brush that comes in the polish).  Then use just the tip of your striper brush dipped in the blue to write “Heigh Ho” diagonally on your middle finger.  (You can get creative here and write whatever you want, like “Mirror, Mirror” or even “Snow White”.)

Use your striper brush dipped in the red polish to create an apple shape on your ring finger and a bow shape on your thumb.  Once dry, dip the striper brush in brown polish and outline the apple and add a stem; then, outline the bow and add small lines within to mimic the folds in the bow’s fabric.

Finally, use your striper brush dipped in red to put small stripes within the blue stripes on your pinky and index finger (this time, horizontal on your pinky and vertical on your index).  Top off each nail with a clear top coat to seal in the look!
