Upcoming Holiday Trends

The holiday season is quickly approaching!  You may already be looking for the perfect dress for a party or planning your makeup look.  I know I am!  Here’s a list of some of the best looks and trends for the season.  Happy shopping!

Ø  Red lace dress- This is classic but sexy, elegant but flirty!  Short, long, cutouts, or a high neck, this dress will fit the mood of the season perfectly in any style!  You’ll instantly stand out in a sea of black and sequins.  I really love this Express one, and here’s one from Forever 21!

Ø  Headbands/headwraps- Who needs a complicated updo when you can just add an embellished metallic headband to some loose waves?  These accessories are a great way to add a little sparkle and flair to a simple dress, without breaking the bank.  Urban Outfitters has some great headbands, like this one, plus headwraps, like this one that has sort of a Gatsby vibe! 

Ø  Neutral makeup- Let your outfit do the talking!  Understated makeup looks, like golden/bronze eyes and cheeks or muted smokey eyes, allow for the focus to be on your dress or accessories.  Put away the glitter this season and keep your face simple.  (But a red lip, especially if it’s matte, will still look great with neutral eyes and a red lace dress!)

Ø  Pastel coat- Okay, not with the red lace, but this looks great with most neutral outfits (or other pastels), for a party or even just on your average weekday.  I’m partial to baby pink (surprise, surprise!) but light blues and purples look awesome as well!  I love this pink coat from Express (and here’s one from Forever 21!) and this blue BB Dakota one from Bloomingdale’s!

Ø  Embellished nails- While your makeup is understated (for the most part), your nails certainly don’t have to be!  Geometric shapes with shiny black and chunky silver glitter look amazing!  Keep the lines sharp and clear, and mix nail polish finishes and textures on single nails!
