If you’re not really wearing a costume but you still want
festive nails for a party, here are some fun, quick, and really easy Halloween
nail designs!
You’ll need:
Base coat
Top coat (I prefer Seche Vite)
Striper brush
Dotting tool
Black, white, orange and red nail polishes, plus an orange
glitter top coat (I used: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in 880 Black Heart; Sally
Hansen Hard as Nails in 110 Hard to Get; NYC Long Wearing Nail Enamel in 112
Times Square Tangerine Creme; and Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Nail Paint in a
bright red)
Start with a base coat on every nail. Paint your nail black then, using your
striper brush, create small white ghost figures. They are rounded at the top with three or
four points at the base. Use a small
dotting tool to put two small black dots (eyes) on each ghost.
This is extremely simple and great for an accent nail! Just paint your nail black and top it off
with some orange glitter! (A little
black glitter would be great for some extra dimension, too.)
Paint your nail orange then, using your striper brush and/or
your dotting tool, create a black jack-o-lantern face. I made a Jack Skellington-inspired face for
mine!
Paint your nail black.
Use your striper brush to make a set of red lips, leaving a small space
in between them. Then dip your striper
brush in white, fill in the space between the lips, and create two small
upside-down triangles on the bottom lip as vampire fangs.
Again, really simple, paint your nail white then add black
vertical stripes. (I just used the side
of the nail polish brush.) Finish each
nail with a top coat and you’re done!
